Someday ago, my mom stole a hula hoop from the day care center situated just below my home.

It started with my dad returning back home saying that there was this hula hoop which he thought had no ownership to anyone and he told my mom that it was 'free'.

My mom rush down to the vicinity and brought the hula hoop up even after KNOWING that it was from the day care center. And now, it is sitting in my house......for my mom to exercise her bellies - note the plural.
